British Inline Skater Hockey Association (BiSHA) Limited is the National Governing Body for Skater Hockey in Great Britain. BiSHA is affiliated to the International Governing Body for Skater Hockey, the International Inline Skater Hockey Federation (iiSHF).

Skater hockey is best described as similar to ice hockey but played on inline/roller skates and with a ball! It is a contact sport and players wear ‘kit’, offering a high degree of protection.

Skater hockey leagues are played within regions in the U.K. and are run for all age groups:-

Age Groups
SENIOR over 18 Born 1989 or earlier
JUNIOR under 18 - 16 Born 1992 - 1990
YOUTH under 15 - 13 Born 1995 - 1993
PEEWEE under 12 - 10 Born 1998 - 1996
MINNOW 9 years & under Born 1999 or later

The regular season runs from 1st January until 31st October with National Finals being held during November of each year.

BiSHA have a Great Britain Men's, Juniors, U21 and Women squads. All our Great Britain squads compete against fellow IISHF affiliated national squads in annual iiSHF European Championships.

BiSHA are looking into the possiblity of forming a national Great Britain Squad for both Youth and Peewee age groups. This will give ALL BiSHA players the opportunity to play for Team Great Britain.

BiSHA are working closely with other disciplines to form one umbrella body with the aim of achieving Olympic status. BiSHA has now achieved Sports Council recognition and forms part of British Roller Sports Federation (BRSF) – the umbrella body of skating disciplines.

BiSHA run referee courses for new referees and timekeepers, each of whom, on passing an examination, are licensed and regularly assessed. Referees gain experience within their leagues and have the opportunity to up-grade. They also have the opportunity to gain further experience by using their skills in International tournaments at home and abroad. Britain now has 16 International Premier Grade 1 Referees.

BiSHA maintain a high standard of refereeing and organisation for:-

  • the safety and well being of all our members;
  • player and spectator enjoyment;
  • the smooth running of our sport;

The Board Members of BiSHA are voluntary, providing development of the sport for teams and players. A high degree of professionalism is maintained to provide a safe environment for the sport of Inline Skater Hockey to flourish.

We aim to promote our sport and encourage players of all abilities.
