Referee Signals

Free Hit: Face-Off: Goal Scored:

One arm vertical, one arm horizontal pointing in the direction the Free Hit it to be taken

Both forearms with outstretched hands swinging past the eyes into a horizontal position showing the point from which the face off shall be taken, the upper arms kept close to the body

One arm extended outwards pointing clearlyat the goal scored

No Goal/No Penalty/Play On: Minor Penalty (2 mins): Major Penalty (5 mins):

Both arms extended outwards horizontally

One arm vertical, two fingers extended toindicate two minutes, followed by the signalfor the relevant penalty

One arm vertical, five fingers extended to indicate five minutes followed by the signal for the relevant penalty

Extended arm raised fully above the head

Using both hands to form a T in front of the chest

One arm extended forward in front of the body and a cutting motion with the other hand on to the wrist

A slashing motion with the hand across thelower thigh/knee

A tugging motion with both hands clenched towards the body

Dangerous Sticking (Code J): Elbowing (Code K): Back Check (Code L):

Holding both fists clenched one immediatelyabove the other at the height of the shoulder

One arm raised, bent at the elbow with the hand behind the ear and the elbow pointedoutwards, with the other hand clearly tapping the elbow

Both arms straight out in front of body, palms up

Illegal Substitute Of Players (Code M): Bench Penalty (Code N): Misconduct Penalty (Code O); (10 Minutes) Yellow Card:

Showing with one hand five fingers and with the other hand one finger

Putting the hands to the hip
